Dutch developer VerVent

Dutch developer VerVent uses MBU as highly reliable and proven bearing solution

VerVent is a Dutch wind technology development start-up with focus on offshore wind turbines. They have developed two turbine concepts: one horizontal axis wind turbine (HAWT) and one for a vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT). The strategy of the drive train concepts is based on a reduction of the technical risk by combining proven components. This way new high-value and reliable turbine concepts arise.

As a rotor bearing both concepts incorporate the eolotec solution of a Main Bearing Unit (MBU): a unit consisting of two pre-loaded tapered roller bearings, shaft and housing. Further information about the MBU concept you find here.

If you have further interest in VerVent and their turbine designs, you can find more information on their website
