If increased damage to certain components of a WTG is referred to as serial damage, the operators and owners usually have only a few options for a solution:

• (Repeated) exchange/replacement of components until the end of the operating time of the WTG
• Throttling of the power up to the premature shutdown of the WTG
• Analysis of the damage and determination of a long-term, sustainable replacement solution (retrofit)
